TEAM CHECK-IN
Teams may attend a NON-MANDATORY check-in the Friday before the tournament, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. All 4 players DO NOT need to attend at the same time. For those who do, 1 parent or guardian can sign the waiver for all players that are under 18. For those who do not attend the Friday check-in they must register a 1/2 hour before their first scheduled game on Saturday. At either registration players will receive their tournament t-shirt, court assignment and time of their first game. Or you can download a copy of your bracket from our website the Wednesday before the tournament. Every player must have a birth certificate or school ID to verify age during the tournament. A picture ID required if older than 18.
GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION AND RULES
Air It Out tournaments are open to anyone 8 years of age or older. Each team consists of 4 players and only 1 player is required to start a game! Roster changes will not be allowed for any reason after the start of your first game. Air It Out tournaments are double elimination with a Down and Out Bowl bracket for teams that lose their first 2 games. Air It Out awards each member of the team for 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Down and Out Bowl finishes. We also award Plaques to the team from each court that best exemplifies sportsmanship and or overall appreciation for the game. After all entries are received teams are then divided into divisions based on age and playing experience.
Typical Brackets ( not guaranteed ) : 10 & Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-24, 25-Older. TOP FLIGHT is an open division where you compete against the best teams. CO-ED teams are excepted. ( We "AIR IT OUT" reserve the right to bracket teams for the best overall fairness of the entire tournament!!! ) A field goal is worth one 1 point. A successful goal from behind the (take back) line ( approx. 19’-9” from the center of the basket ) is worth two 2 points. The player shooting must have both feet completely behind the line when initiating an attempt. Games are played to 15 - win by 2 or the first team to score 21 points. Boys and girls 14 and under will play to 12 - win by 2 or the first team to score 15 points. If a game is not completed within the 30 minute time limit, the team with the most points will be declared the winner. ( No time limit for championship games ). A legal change of possession is 1 foot behind the (take back) line.
FOULS AND VIOLATIONS
Excessive fouling and rough play will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to eject any player for improper play. Foul shots may be awarded! (7 foul rule) After the 7th foul shots will be awarded. The rule must be initiated by 1 player before the start of the game. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL is permitted during the tournament. A player is subject to instant removal if suspected of being intoxicated. Use of profane language will not be tolerated! This is a family event
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES OR ADVERSE WEATHER CONTITIONS
Games may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather. Game times may be shortened, points to win a game may be reduced, the tournament format may be changed from double elimination to single elimination or other steps may be taken. If the tournament is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions there will be NO refunds.
